Right Joy-Con "ghosting" pressing buttons by itself

A little while ago my younger sister was playing with the Switch. My brother got mad at her for some reason and whacked the Switch out of her hands. The Switch landed right on the R button (the slim button on the right of the Joy-Con) and it cracked in half, rendering the button useless.

The system still continued to "work" for a little while, however eventually I noticed that the right joy con would start pressing random inputs. It would always be trying to go home and it would never work how I wanted it to work. I'm thinking maybe the logic board inside the Joy-Con was cracked. What do you guys think?

Assuming "cracked in half" means a piece of the button is missing, I'm guessing some dirt got in your joycon through the hole. Open it up and give it a good cleaning. If it's just dust, compressed air might do the trick, otherwise I'd go with a toothbrush and IPA. If that works, you should also fix the R button or at least cover the hole to avoid this happening again

You're going to have to open up the Joy Con and visually inspect it. Clean any dust and debris out if necessary. Check to see if the joy stick or buttons seem to be damaged and replace the damaged components if necessary.

I have the same issue with one set of joycons… just bought another set from Costco and charged them and the issue continues now with this set. But doesn’t happen with regular controllers or our first set of joycons… no one seems to have a solution…
