Fitting replacement front panel and lcd assembly?

I have been having trouble in regards to fitting this part. I have sourced both compatible and original parts but when fitting them none fit flush. Or the screen appears under pressure( pressure points show when touching the screen).

I have followed your guide and numerous others and have stripped the ipod down to the base and rebuilt it.

I am an engineer of 20 years and am employed in the office equipment industry so have had lots of experience in following instruction and dismantling small devices.

Is there something i'm missing?

Thanks Martin

All the adhesive has been removed and i cannot see any damage, but will recheck. I shall go over it again following your advice and see how i go.

First...

Use a loupe to check if their is any old adhesive that you may have missed, this will cause the glass to rise.

Last, check the metal frame. If it is dinged in, the glass usually won't fit back in at all. In rare cases with a "very very" slight ding I've used a hobby knife to remove just a pinch of the plastic inside the frame.

Always test inserting the glass back in before you apply new adhesive so you can easily remove and address any of these issues.

Last...

When you insert the screen tilt the bottom up about 20 degrees and gently push it from the bottom of the screen up to the top of the iPod. Next, gently, run your fingers from the top glass down the sides and you should hear it click into place in several different areas.

Also, when you pop in the display make sure your display connector is fit properly. Before you snap in the glass, you need to look between the new screen and logic board and make sure the long thin cable is in a Z fold.
