What OS do you have? Windows or Linux? In windows, have you checked to see if your camera show up in Device manager?

i have xp nothing shows in the device manger. driver says it cant find the cam to down load. so its not finding the cam

Take a look inside your BIOS and see if you have an option to enable the cam in there
