Need help finding why my laptop is randomly restarting!

Hi everyone.

So my computer restarts randomly. When I login right after the restart I DON'T get any message (I'm thinking about the usual "your computer had to restart because of a problem" message).

My computer is a MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, for RAM it has 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, and for GPU an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1 GB and Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB.

I haven't tried anything besides resetting NVRAM and SMC. Is there any ideas on what should I try next?

By the way I haven't had a problem in Safe Mode so far.

Thank you!

If you are able to boot up into Safe Mode, then it seems likely that you either have a graphics issue or an issue with some sort of startup item or kernel extension causing the system to crash. If you have any OS updates available, you could try installing those in Safe Mode to see if it fixes the issue. If not, you may want to use Console to look for any crash logs indicating CPU or GPU failure or something else like a crashing background process. You could also boot the system into Recovery Mode and run First Aid on the internal drive, or you could use Apple Diagnostics to see if this gives you any more information.

Hi @zpl. Thank you for the guidance.

So I opened another question since this one didn't got much traction and they think it's the battery so I'm replacing it and I'll start again from there:

Retina mid 2012 started randomly restarting
