Kenmore 80 series 110 washer starts spinning while draining for rinse

Not only does it start to spin while draining during the rinse cycle, (shouldn't the tub be empty prior to spinning?) there's no subsequent follow up water adding. ALSO, second rinse sometimes doesn't spin at all.
