L3 button makes me go up

Whenever I click L3 the joystick registers as going up. I have oppened the controller and it seems fine, even cleaned it including the little part in the potentiometer, however it still does this and I cannot figure out why.
If anyone knows what may be happening and how I could fix it, it would be amazing!
