8 beeps looping all the time when computer is turned on

Hello,

I have disconnected the lcd from my laptop, and I am using it with external screen, I also disconnected the speaker from the inside, I am connecting it to external speaker, it keeps beeping 8 times (lcd connector problem) in loops.

I understand something is wrong with the lcd since I disconnected it (thank you Dell) how can I stop it from beeping? I cannot use the speaker because its beeping all the time, I tired the D+power on button but it doesnt work for some reason, what can I do?

thank you!

Hi,

Not sure that this will work or even if the option is available in your particular model but maybe worth a look anyway.

The manual for your model doesn't show the BIOS menu options

wow, thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately I do not have this option in my bios (11 year old laptop)

it works great (I modified it to 16fb ram and another ssd drive), please help me find a way to stop the beeping :(

thanks!!

@dracula1001

The beeps emanate from BIOS so unless you can modify just a line of code in the firmware there's not much you can do.

Don't know if this will work but if you don't use the speakers for anything, insert a 3.5mm plug (example only) into the laptop's combo headphone/mic socket and check if that stops the beeps from being heard.

Theoretically it should switch the audio from the laptop speakers to the headphones but since there are none connected there should be nothing heard.

I did!

i Disconnected the speaker from the system problem is that when i connect to external speakers via the 3.5mm connector it beeps using the speakers :(

@dracula1001

What I meant was that IF you didn't need to use speakers that you put just the 3.5mm jackplug into the combo jack i.e. nothing is connected it.

Plugging in a jack disconnects the laptop speakers and if there's no wires connected to the jack that is inserted in the headphone's socket there will be no sound
