I have a fridgidair dryer model # FFLE4033QT, and the dryer tries to start it actually does for about 5 seconds then stops and beeps, 3 long beeps. Has anybody run across this problem. This unit is new, but has been in storage for years.

What lights are on when it beeps 3 times?

Go to p.118 to see how to check what the 5 last error codes were and what they mean.
You can also run the diagnostic tests as shown on p.116.
Note: I realize that your particular model number is not shown in the manual but the publication number 5995666392 (seen on the bottom left of the title page), is the same as the publication number for your model.
