Go Pro Hero 7 silver No SD Card

Hi all, my friend bought a Go Pro hero 7 brand new back in 2020 but when she arrived home in a remote part of Egypt she found the go pro would not accept or format any SD card (despite other go pros accepting the cards). Due to remote location and with the outbreak of COVID she couldn't get the go pro to a retailer within 30days of her warranty claim and Go Pro have since refused to accept the device and exchange it for a new one. Fast forward to Jan 2023 and I've now got the GoPro and am trying to figure out a fix for it. I have tried it on my own SD cards, I have formatted my SD cards on the computer even and still the GoPro won't recognise any SD cards.

I can't update the software as it won't recognise a SD card to save the update on to.

Is there a fix anyone has come across?
