Samsung Galaxy A12 unresponsive

I have an A12 from my friend with some water damage that I have been trying to fix, they said they dropped it in a bucket of water and soap while cleaning. At the time, the screen turned off but they were still receiving notifications and calls, they just couldn't interact because the screen wouldn't turn on so they let the battery die to stop the noise. I opened the phone to clean it, but didn't see much. A little water at the bottom charging area but the top motherboard was fine, no indication of liquid up there.

Soft resets (holding the power + volume buttons) was unresponsive. I tried replacing the screen, battery and charging board from parts I got through unlockr.ca. The phone is still unresponsive. I do have all the original parts still if they're needed. Any suggestions?

Try putting the original battery back, keep the new screen and charger port. Let us know what happens when you charge If it was on but no screen display, the screen was evidently the issue. Now you have replaced the battery, it isn’t responding at all. Try and put the original battery back in

I put the original battery back in but the phone is still unresponsive. I'm hoping the motherboard wasn't fried, it didn't look like it was damaged and there wasn't any indication of liquid at that part of the phone.

Right, no way the battery was connected whilst screen and charger port wasn’t?

さんによる

No, that's the first thing I disconnect and the last thing I reconnect.

Ok, have you checked all sockets for any visible damage (missing pins etc)?

さんによる

Yes, everything is clean and intact. I compared the original parts to the new ones and they look the same, I made sure they are firmly connected.

I think this is beyond my skills, I mostly do screen replacements and don't have an ammeter.

I have a similar problem but the screen was cracked. I replaced it and the motherboard was a no response. The charger adapter static ding twice showing its charging but no screen display. Means motherboard is shocked. Testing cables will tell which small components that needs replacement. Those little silver pieces in the motherboard or SSD bored. Test them with computer battery cables and replaced by soldering the pieces up n cleaning under neath piece alcohol. Then glue a new piece back in it spots. If counties test n replace piece as u go.
