My friends 2DS has had an issue where when it turns on there's just a popping noise and a black screen and it turns back off for idk how long. Since he hasn't used it in years and gave it to me it is missing this piece shown in the photo that I noticed was present in a repair video

This is a WiFi Card, however, I'm not certain that your friend's DS ever had it? It seems odd to me. But I also don't see the socket that it would have plugged into. It looks like it might be a different variant? What is the model number of the console?
