Touchscreen isn't working
The surface turns on without any problems and the screen is working correctly with the keyboard. However, the touchscreen isn't working.

You will definitely want to try all the software fixes possible first, such as reinstalling drivers, possibly up to and including reinstalling the entire operating system in attempting to fix this issue.
However, if none of that works, you may possibly be looking at a digitizer (touch screen) that has given up the ghost. On many devices it's possible to replace just the digitizer by itself without the LCD, but the Surface line of products bonds the digitizer to the LCD, requiring specialized equipment and expertise to separate them. As such, replacement of either component requires you to replace the complete LCD/digitizer assembly. Assuming your device is the original Surface Pro as specified in the device category your question is posted under, you'll need this guide in order to replace it.

The part is available several places online; the only issue I had was that a search just for Surface Pro parts also brings up the parts for the 2nd through 7th generations as well. Here's one of the first ones I came across; I'd check sources such Amazon, eBay and AliExpress for parts as well.
