Are iPhones Still Water Resistant After Replacing Their Camera Glass?

With all due respect, I'm going to mostly disagree with Ben. Supposedly anything you do that affects any adhesive on the phone means it loses it waterproofing bona fides. However, done correctly, adhesive replacement can get the phone close to where it originally was with regard to water resistance.

I would personally be fine with the adhesive that comes with replacement camera lens glass, but if you want to up your feeling of security, you might consider placing the adhesive down, then run a very thin bead of silicone sealant around the outside edge of the adhesive. I'm talking about like the diameter of a pin, maybe a pencil lead, max. You definitely don't want enough in there that it could squeegee across the glue and get on the lens.

One thing to keep in mind is that with a crack in the glass it's definitely not waterproof! So anything you do to replace the glass is only going to help.
