Phone fell off cliff, can I recover on device photos?

So my phone fell out of my pocket off a cliff, bounced off a ledge, and hit some more rocks on its way to the ground. I recovered the phone and its really busted. the screen has some pixels lighting up when I plug it in but its not recognized as a device connected to my PC. Do I have any options to get data off the hard drive?

Hi

Did you make a backup of the phone at all?

As @dadibrokeit has said the charging port will be a hard one but if you take it to a know repair shop that specialises in data recovery they might be able to help you out

Thanks:-)

Dang Ryan, that phone is seriously crunched! I'll remember not to take my 6 pro when I go out near cliffs.

My first impulse is to suggest replacing the charging port. There are a lot of pins on a USB-C connector, and it's entirely possible to damage the data pins but still have the pins that carry the power be intact. Of course iFixit seems to be a little light on information about the charging port, but after watching a couple of video teardowns, it looks like there's bad news in that department.

On our phone the charging port is soldered onto the motherboard, which means you'd need someone skilled in microsoldering to be able to replace it, and of course that assumes you can find a replacement part, which may or may not be difficult. I find myself disappointed with Google for making that choice, since the charging port is heavily used and susceptible to damage.

Sorry I couldn't be more help; hopefully some of our actual repair technicians can give you more guidance.
