Aaron Rieser that is actually a failed LCD driver board. It is not a red stripe but the LCD is not properly driving that part of the display etc. I would check the driver board first for any obviously damaged looking components. Something like missing or charred capacitors etc. After that take a look at the ribbon cable that terminates exactly where your screen has the red discoloration. Do not try to remove that wire since it is adhered via a special process. What you can do is to push on it and see if that changes the color. Also check for corrosion which can be cleaned with a brush and high grade isopropyl alcohol.

For clarification only

this shows you the ribbon cables that connect to your screen. Push on those and see if that changes.

Also, post some really good images of your boards with your QUESTION. That way we can see what you see.

What type of wire is it, I'm in a situation where I need to remove the board and that wire is an issue due to its nature of being adhered seemingly permanently.

@aaroncamus it is adhered through a special process called "TAB" You should only remove it if you have the proper machine to put it back on. Otherwise I would advise you to NOT remove that wire.
