Is there anyway to remove Icloud Lock For free?

So basically my grandmother gave us her old iPad mini 2, which she was locked out of because she could not remember her apple id or password, and she did not remember the phone number linked to it. We took it to apple and they said without a purchase receipt which we dont have, they cant unlock the device without proof of ownership. Since we dont know the apple id, phone number, or password, and dont have receipt, we have considered using a third party online tool, because there are reports of it actually working. So if anyone know if there is a completely free to download software, that will unlock my ipad for free, please let me know. I want to know if it is free and will it also unlock the whole device for free.

Find the freephone number for apple support for your country and call them. They will ask a series of security questions linked to her account and if answered correctly they will remove the old password on the account so you can set up a new one or remove the account completely. Good luck

There are ways of removing iCloud locks but they aren’t all free unfortunately ;-{

There are services that claim to be able to remove it temporarily but I have never used one so that’s a bit of a gamble

What I would do is have the logicboard replaced by a professional ,just make sure they replace the logicboard with one that DOES NOT have a iCloud lock on it

If all goes well and gets replaced it shouldn’t have any more locks

As for going back to apple to get it removed:I would contact the carrier (o2,sprint,AT&T…)that the phone number was with as if you tell them your name they might be able to track down your details for you

There's a bit of confusion between what someone could do with an iPhone Vs an iPad.

iPad's can't be unlocked as they are strictly a data stream device via WiFi or if you bought a cellar model via a wireless connection. Otherwise is via USB and iTunes.

An iPhone which is unlocked (not really) only offers voice services via your cellar account (SIM) All they are doing is putting it to emergency mode. This is when a phone is locked by the carrier, here, it allows access via the network. A few apps on phone like calculator will work but that's it!

You really need to figure out what your grandmother did.

When I was talking about a phone number I am talking about the phone number associated with the Apple ID
