3DS Top Screen Doesn’t Work When I Put it to Sleep

Recently I homebrewed my 3DS and have found myself with this problem where after I open my 3DS after it goes to sleep, I’m met with this grey, static screen only on the top part.

The bottom screen looks and works perfectly fine, and it seems like the top screen is still “going” other than it’s static look. This doesn’t happen when I power it on, and my current solution is just to completely power off the system and turn it back on again, being careful not to close it or put it to sleep.

After asking the homebrewing community for some help, I’ve been told it’s a hardware issue since none of the internal data appears to be corrupted. Any help is greatly appreciated and I’ll be happy to provide any additional information :)
