Currently, I am attempting to find a repair guide for the iPad 8 but all I'm finding is the guides for the iPad 7. I'm just curious as to how similar the repair process is for the iPad 8 compared to the iPad 7.

As far as I can tell, the processes for the bog standard repairs are going to be nigh identical between the two. The board layout is extremely similar, all the connectors are in the same place. Processes may be EXACTLY the same, but I don't have an 8 on hand and I cannot seem to find any specific pictures of the iPad 8 internal layout. But I would expect it to be a translatable experience from one to the other. Even iPad 6 to iPad 7 is very very similar, aside from a few quirks and the obvious change is display size.

iPad 7 and 8 are almost 100% identical, we haven't looked under the microscopic to compare board components, I think they just upgraded CPU on 8th gen. Replaceable parts like digitizer, LCD, battery, home button, cameras, audio jack, lightning port, etc., are exactly the same as 7th gen.

They are the same design, so the repair process is about the same.

When you say it is "about the same" do you mean it's exactly 1:1, or is there a step or two that is modified slightly?

What are you trying to repair, specifically?

@flannelist Primary the digitizer, screen, and the battery. Although, I'm just asking in general how similar the process is.
