(Screen replacemened) Phone restarts when shaken too hard or pressed

As stated in the title, when I replaced the screen, altough i did bend two things (shown in image below):

Block Image

I rebend them, put everything together and it seemed fine at first, but as soon as I started to “smudge” the screen to see if it fit and wasnt lose, the screen went black. The apple logo appears and im back at the home screen.

Then I tried shaking it around to see if I could replicate the problem, and sure enough after some shaking it rebooted again.
This seems to be some sort of a short circuit.

I tried force restart, rebending the pins again and making sure everything was correctly plugged in.
Nothing changed.

What do I do now?

Those little clips just serve to snap the display into the rest of the housing. Being bent shouldn’t be a *huge* deal. I have inadvertently done this before to no effect more than once. I would be more concerned about the cables. I would inspect the actual flex cables coming off the screen. Check and see if they are getting pinched or were damaged in any way when you closed everything up. Particularly in the spot where the cable curls around.

Also, what sort of display are you using? Is it an LCD? or an OLED?

I will take a look right now.

It is an LCD display.

My Problem seems to be is that, if taken apart, the screen will come on and function normally, even if I press hard or try to replicate the problem. the problem really only appears if i close it back up. Perhaps the flex cables you mentioned of, could be getting squished. Is that possible?

@Max Meider LCDs aren't my favorite. For a couple of reasons, but I understand the allure of the price differential.

If that's the case, i would pay attention to where the cables attach to the screen, in the lower left corner (if you're looking at the back of the display). See if you squish the cables in that area if you can recreate the problem.
