Disconnected battery adapter, scared to solder and ruin the board.
I was fixing a few small issues with my MacBook Air, trying to fix it up for my daughter. Two issues arose and I’d love to figure them out!
Firstly, while changing the battery, the adapter that connects the battery to the logic board popped off :(
I know it needs soldered to the board, but in trying , my first attempt I seem to have melted a bit of the adapter and I”m not sure if the connection from the board to the adapter actually connect.
I’m also worried I will get solder in between two of the pin and short out the board. What can happen if to pin point touch on a board, specifically the battery?
Is there a way to test if you did it right before you add power to the situaiton? Lastly, where is the EFI chip on the 11 version of the same model? So 1465? I can not locate it.
Thanks
