Beko DTGC8001RW no power

Hi there

I have the above tumble dryer which was working perfectly fine, no strange noises, drying quickly etc…but it’s completely stopped working. I’ve check the fuse and that isn’t the issue. There is just no power at all.

Does anyone have any advice?

Many thanks

Hi ,

Just clarifying, does the dryer indicate no power at all i.e. no display when the On/Off button is operated or there is a display when the power button is operated but won't do anything else?

Hi

The dryer doesn’t have a power button which you press. Instead it has a dial which you turn from the off position, to the setting which you want. The panel is then supposed to light up and then you press the start button. But nothing is lighting up at all, and it is not starting.

Thanks for replying

Can't find a service manual for the dryer so if it is out of warranty you may have to open it up and start testing.

Disconnect the dryer from the power and then use a DMM's (digital multimeter) Ohmmeter function to prove continuity in the power cord from the plug to where the cord terminates in the machine.

If the cord is OK then use the meter to check if the On/Off/program switch is working OK electrically.

Without a schematic of the dryer it will be difficult as you have to trace the wires etc.

Looking at the part list for the dryer online, there is no fuse mentioned as a spare for the machine so it may be a control board problem.

If you open the machine check the control board for any obvious damage i.e. burnt out components etc.
