I just did an iPhone 8 screen repair, got the device put back together and turned it on, and I can hear the chime and the touch ID button has haptic feedback, but the screen isn’t turning on. Any ideas of how to troubleshoot this? I am a noob, just repairing it for my daughter, everything seemed to go smoothly.

All I can recommend is checking then reseating the connections to the screen. These being the one near the camera up top and the one in the middle right area. If you still run into problems it is possible that the replacement screen is faulty.

Ok yeah I've installed the screen at least five times so far and it's the same problem every time, so I think it's probably a faulty replacement screen :( Thank you for your help!

Do you see a glow from the replacement screen?

Maybe the connector for the display got damaged, if that is the case, you might need to solder a new connector onto the motherboard, or get a new screen. however im not sure

You will need to open the phone back up and look very closely at the connectors for the screen and the connectors that connect the screen to the motherboard
