Laptop Wont turn on after cleaning

Good evening guys.. I’m frustrated.. I cleaned dust of my old laptop and when I put everything back together it wont start. ( Battery was dead before , only was working when plugged in ). There is only white and orange lights. Thats it, when pressing power button all lights turns on for a second and turns off straight away. Tried to change ram slots, plugged in and out all cables but nothing helps.. tried youtube videos, but useless..

Did you take out the battery connector while cleaning the laptop? Did you use metal tools or replace the thermal paste?

if you disassembled this than you may need to put new thermal paste on the CPU and GPU and also verify that the fans are plugged into the motherboard in the right spots. Also look for the wire are the plug and the fan side to make sure it didn’t break on you. they do get brittle with age.

@carlitoo ok check the battery connection. even if it is a bad battery it still needs to be connected on some laptops for the boot test to power on. Also if you have more than 1 RAM stick remove all but one and try. swap and try.

does the screen light up at all? if not check it's cable and reseat it.

test the fans as well with a laptops are usually 3v or 5v but may even be 12v so start at 3v and go up. soon as it spins you know it is good. just series some AA batteries together as each is at new 1.2v so 3 batteries for 3v and 4 for 5v and so on.

also take pictures of the board in quadrants so 4 pictures so I can see it and look at the cap and connections.
