Controller will not turn on without being plugged into something?
My Xbox Elite Series 2 controller does not function at all without being plugged into the usb-c or sitting on its charging dock that it came with. The power button works, the accessories app claims it has a full charge, the firmware is up to date, everything works great then as soon as it’s unplugged, it’s a brick. It acts as if there is 0 charge to the battery. What do I do?

Sorry I should’ve specified I’m using this on PC no console. I’ve gotten a wireless adapter and it will connect wirelessly but only when attached to it’s charging dock. As soon as it’s removed the controller doesn’t turn on. It does work completely fine with a wire attached, the issue is the controller won’t turn on at all without a wire attached, or it being mounted on a charging dock.
I'm having the same issue with my Elite Series 2 controller it only works plugged in with the usb-c. It register full battery, but when I disconnect the cord it's dead in the water. It's been gong on since April or May. All the forums are a no go so far. HELP!!!

I have this issue too!
I have to plug it into power supply to switch on but mine works if you unplug it though, the home button works fine, it's gotta be summat to do with standby voltage to the home button!
Any suggestions 🤔
I'm OK with soldering and pad/trace repair but this has me stumped.
I'm gonna solder a battery to the board and check some voltages!

Hey man. The battery inside the controller goes bad after so many charges. It’s a really easy replacement and fairly cheap to fix. It’s just some screws pull the old batter pop the new one in and let it charge. I haven’t had a problem since I replaced mine. My battery was swollen once I opened it up. I hope this helps
