2010VW Golf mk6 Instrument cluster board component identification help

Hi Guys,

A bit frustrated, having trouble finding schematics for 2010 vw golf mk6 instrument cluster. Not powering on at all so trying to find fault. Need help identifying some components.

This component has numbers printed on top: R527A and some sort of symbol like a C with lines through it. What is it? How do I find it on Digikey? Photo bellow:

Here is a photo of the whole board:

Trying to follow the pin thats supposed to supply power to it. It seems I am not getting a reading at all in diode mode. There is something wrong along that line. Finding it really hard with no schematics or board-view to help follow it along.

If anyone has any advise or prior repair knowledge of a newer no power instrument cluster repair would be more than appreciated. Am really stuck. Here is a photo of the other side of the board:

Also could not find this mosfet?? Marking on top is 24C64WQ K022P

Like I said main problem is no power at all

Any help? Thanks everyone ;) ( would be so much easier with board-view)

It is hard without schematics and board view. It looks like 24C64WQ K022P is actually some sort of EEPROM It doesn’t look like a Fett.

hey Chris, Thanks mate. Yeah I know its driving me crazy. I can't believe there is no schematics for it on google

@Tommy Duris

There won't be a schematic for the cluster in the service manual but it should show where the power comes into the cluster in the electrical wiring diagrams for the vehicle, which may be a start.

I didn't check because it is a 428MB download.

Cheers.

Hi Jayeff, Yeah I did find that and know that pin 32 is supposed to supply power to the instrument cluster but multimeter shows OL on pin 32, so I know there is a problem on that line but am having trouble following it between both sides. Boardview would of been excellent for that. Would allow me to repair it very quickly, now not so much.

@Tommy Duris

So there is no power getting to the cluster board from wherever it comes from rather than a problem on the board itself?

Doesn't the repair manual show where the power comes from e.g. a control module or a fuse perhaps?
