Hi need some help / advice please, my Samsung SMT 3232a kept turning off and on, was told it was a main board issue so changed that for a spare bought from internet, now it stays on but the HDMI port will not recognise and I can’t find another part on the internet. Looking for some help, please. Is there anything I can do with the now two faulty boards to make a good one such as swap the ports or is it likely to be something else. Thanks

Carl Burton it could be the HDMI port itself (maybe shortened out or bend/broken pins) but it also possible that this is your HDMI IC on the board itself. Sometimes a simple reflow of it can fix the issue at least temporarily. Post some good pictures of both boards (old and new, both sides) with your QUESTION. The turning off on the first board could actually be related to some bad capacitors. Samsung monitors had some issues with a bad batch of caps…..

Update - The PC port doesn’t work either, is this likely to be the board itself or would there be any further reasons that ports don’t work that I could try?
It sounds like your input ports are failing (most likely due to a failing processor). That would usually be an issue with the main board.
Ok so I’ve managed to check again and all other inputs do work, I think the port is the problem although it doesn’t display on screen if I plug my phone in my phone does recognise the input as comes up saying connected on phone? I guess a new board would be the answer but I can’t locate another any recommendations please? MAIN AV BOARD BN41-02365A (BN91-14862N) - SAMSUNG SMT-3232A
This is the part and person I bought from but unfortunately the HDMI didn’t work, I’ve searched but no real joy, was looking for some sort of inspiration
