What is the model number of the washer?

Does it only occur at 3.00 a.m.? Have you noticed a general increase in water pressure at that time?

If you mean that the washer is filling at 3 a.m, even though it is not turned on, check whether this is happening through the hot water hose or the cold water hose (or both). Turn off the power to the machine and then turn off the water supply to one hose at a time and check if the problem still occurs?

Once you know which supply is the problem (hot or cold) then there may be a problem with the associated water inlet solenoid valve in the machine, not closing properly, e.g having a weaker spring to keep it shut tight against the pressure of the water.
