Television sound stops until it gets unplugged and plugged back in

After the TV has been on for 30 minutes, the sound (through both the TV and Soundbar) stops working. All audio (coming from smart TV apps and our cable box) won’t play through either device until the TV is unplugged and plugged back in. The TV is about 2 or 3 years old.
