The Explorer saw significant exterior, interior, and suspension updates for the 1995 model year, losing all its exterior bodywork shared with the Ford Ranger.
Several things come to mind. The fuel filter needs changing or there is a weak electrical component in your engine control module. Plugs, wires or rotor cap also come to mind.
