Water spilled on computer, after a couple months it worked, now doesnt

So, about 2 or 3 months ago I spilled water on my laptop but turned it on immediately after like an idiot. I figured it was fried, so I put it on my shelf. Fast-forward to a couple of days ago and something made me plug it in to see if it would work, it did. Now, after leaving my computer running I walked away and it turned off and will not turn back on. The model number is GL553V if it is important. Could my battery be the faulty part and replacing it could be the key to my computer running? The motherboard is obviously not fried, but would it be too difficult to replace a laptop battery at home?

Thank you so much!

Joseph

Joseph that would be entirely to easy. You will have to disassemble your laptop and take a look at the corrosion on the motherboard, which is most likely the real issue. “motherboard is obviously not fried “ most likely it is (or at least part of it). Remember that the water damage never got taken care off and this is how things usually die from it. Use something like this video for the disassembly. After that post some good pictures with your QUESTION. That way we can see what happened. It may also be difficult to find a schematic for that particular motherboard but we will cross that barrier later.
