I had this exact problem, I fixed it with by 3d printing this object:

There are other fixes on thingiverse, but this is what worked for me.

Sodastream does not sell replacement parts. (That's a good reason to consider buying from another company instead). The older Sodastream models used plastic fittings, and it's very common for them to split. You can print your own replacement, or buy one online. But 3D printing does not produce parts that are strong enough to hold up under pressure, so it may only last a short while. It's probably better to pay a little more for a replacement made of brass or aluminum.

I saw several of the 3D printed solutions and I didn't feel any of those captured what I wanted. So I've created a design that I think solves several of the issues:

  1. New nut must be able to reuse the old hose (so no need to find new hose, or the crimps).
  2. Home made with 3D printer, so that if it fails, can re-make.
  3. The load on the crimp must be uniform around it's perimeter (there are some solutions which only press on half to 3/4 of the crimp, allowing gas to leak from the non-pressed portion).

So I came up with a half nut design with an outer case to hold the half nuts together. I've put the design on Thingiverse if anyone needs it. Make it out of PETG for better strength. Tested it and so far seems to work ok!!

Go to the hardware store.

Buy brass plumbing fitting (3/8" female with hose barb).

Buy a few small washers that will fit inside of the larger part of the fitting.

Go home.

Cut off the barb part of the fitting.

Drill the small opening of the fitting out with a 15/64" bit.

Cut a slot in the washer, edge to center.

Now you have all your parts ready.

At the sodastream, thread the black plastic tube thru the brass fitting (threaded size down).

Using pliers, bend the washer so that the black plastic tube can get into the center of the washer.

Bend the washer flat again.

Insert the end of the tube back into the top of the sodastream nozzle.

Slide the washer and brass fitting down to the threaded plastic piece, and tighten (easy! The brass threads can easily strip the plastic threads).

Put the front cover back on, and make yourself some seltzer!
