This might be a dumb question, but I received 2 nanos yesterday (a first and second gen) The first gen seems to be cooked but the second gen works pretty okay, but the center button does not work. It clicks but there is no software click sound. I was thinking I could maybe switch the click wheels? If anyone else has any ideas i’d love to hear them.

maxchendricks those are not interchangeable. The center button just depresses a microswitch below it. Sometimes placing something between the switch and the button allow this to work. Other times the switch is shot and/or the logic board. You’ll have to do some trial and error with this. BTW those are a bear to work on and require a lot of fine motor skills. Follow the guides iPod Nano 2nd Generation to a “T” . Also, schematics etc. are not available so you depend a bit on your own troubleshooting skills.
