KitchenAid Classic mixer turns on as soon as it's plugged
The mixer turns on as soon as plugged on the wall outlet and can’t be turned off without unplugging it. What part needs replacement and how can I fix it myself?

What is the model number of the mixer?
It sounds as though the power / speed selector switch mechanism may be faulty
