hello for all and I wish all a nice week ahead can you explain to me what is the meaning of replacement device by apple? can I connected to wifi and activate the device and make calls if it is unlocked carrier and free icloud ? ?

It means that it is a refurbished device ( most of the time) and it look brand new, If the iPhone you turn in to Apple is sim locked to a provider the replacement device will also be locked.

can you please in more simple device if it is free icloud and carrier unlocked can use it as any iphone?
Did you revive it for a defect one from Apple? Or bought it some where?
If your got it replaced by Apple and your defective iPhone was locked to for example AT&T then the refurbished iPhone will also be locked to AT&T But if you bought it from EBay or someone else you have to check if there is a iCloud lock or sim lock, I got foulled once , I thought I was iCloud free also checked it but when I got home and want to set up the iPhone it has a MDM lock if you don’t know what mdm means please google it

Then you have to check it, there are some websites where you can check if its icloud locked and sim locked. And if you alreadfy recived it put your sim in the iphone and see if your sim is accepted and take a look if you can put your own id in the settings.
