Did something incredibly stupid to stuck left shift key
OK, please bear with me. My left shift key had been sticking occasionally so I put it on the back burner to bring in for repair before the warranty was up. Lo and behold, COVID arrived and it was impossible or very difficult to get a repair appointment.
The problem stopped—was probably just some debris—but I made a note to bring it in anyhow, as I had heard about the free butterfly key repair program.
without giving the gory details of why I ended up doing this, in the hopes of fixing the problem myself i’ve ended up with the protective membrane/silicone switch cover nearly completely torn off.
is there any hope or suggestions to bring this in and still have it fixed? of course key is worse. I guess I could be honest but that doesn’t seem to be the best tactic here. thought about trying to get the remains of the membrane back out of the trash but that’s not a pretty picture.
I know all this sounds and is really really dumb—however was in the midst of total anxiety thinking about the fall and school for my kids.
thanks,
Gina
