So effectively, i got a screen replacement, the screen seemed to work, but the battery image froze after plugging in. i’m not sure if that’s because of a motherboard, firmware, or something else, but that’s what’s going on.

There could be a couple issues here, all of which can be tied back to the screen in some way. It could be something as simple as a loose display connector, a damaged screen connector or ribbon cable, or a defective screen. Open it back up and inspect the display connector on both the new screen and the motherboard for any damage. Also check the ribbon cable. If that looks good, reseat the display connector and you can power it on without having to put the whole phone back together, just make sure you at least have the wireless charging coil making contact with the board as they have a battery temperature sensor.
If none of those solutions fix your issue, it could be a defective display or could’ve been damaged during installation. I rarely see galaxy screens fail due to a defect after repair, unless you ordered from Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, Wish, or AliExpress. They have no quality control over products such as phone parts so anyone can sell any junk part they can get their hands on.

i think i toasted the whole phone. The red light isn’t even coming on anymore when i leave it to charge. The charger and cable are known good ones as well.
