How to fix loose display connection?

A few weeks ago, while I was leaving my MacBook Pro on the table, it blacked out on itself. At first, I thought it was just running low on battery so I charged it. Then I noticed the backlight is still on, the keyboards were also lighting up. I suspect the display connection is loose. Is there any way to fix it or do I need to replace it?

So, I checked with Apple Support, turns out my macbook is not eligible for the service program, it was meant for the 2016 model, mine happens to be a 2017 model.

@jkai03 - Don't give in! Apple will replace it but you'll need to push!

The phone support folks are programed to say no! Going directly to an Apple Store and pressing will get you a yes!

So, I am answering this question myself for the sake of people having the same “Flexgate” issue like I do. I got it fixed by Apple, with zero charge. And here’s how I did it.

First of all, “Flexgate” is something that Apple technical Support Team will NEVER acknowledge. I called the technical support team five times, and I got the same answer 5 times…. “Your only option is to get it fix with a out-of-warranty charge….”

I decided to call Apple’s “"Customer Relations” Department instead. The guy granted me a “one-time-exception'“ to repair my out-of-warranty MacBook after I have convinced him that my laptop should be included in the 13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program. Although I was expecting to be granted a “CS-code”, but I didn’t get that anyway.

I am not very sure how these “CS-code” or “one-time-exceptions” work, but I’ll let those who knows comment under this post.

I know there is a recall or extended warranty on these or similar models due to a bad LCD cable.
