I accidentally plugged my yamaha psr 185 into a 220v soccet
I got so excited that I plugged it in a 220v power supply and turned it on for 2 secs. Now it wont turn on using the 110v transformer. Help
Probably You have burnt your adapter check out on it if it’s written also 220 or 250v if it’s not you will need new one

Hi,
The overvoltage probably damaged components on the power supply board in the keyboard.
With the power totally disconnected from the keyboard open it up and locate the power board (where the power cord socket connects to) and look for any burnt out or blown components.
If you are unsure if anything is wrong post some close up images of the board back here and hopefully someone may spot the problem.
Here’s how to do this.
Do you have a DMM (digital multimeter) and know how to use and also do you have soldering skills and tools it as they may come in handy when trying to repair the keyboard?
If not then contact a reputable, professional electronics repair service and ask for a quote to repair the keyboard.

Hello. You will need to do some basic diagnosing. Firstly, measure the output voltage of the Power supply. You will need a basic multimeter which you can get for under twenty bucks. Assuming the power supply has the correct voltage, you will need to split the keyboard and have a look at the power board. Most Yamahas have an in line fuse which is a square device about a cm high. Measure it for continuity. Measure the input is not shorted as they usually also have a DC mov. What is very common on Yamaha keyboards is the w9825g RAM chips on the main board failing. With power plugged in, touch the chips and see if one or more are hot. Replacing them is very tricky if you are new to soldering. Another common problem with Yamahas that have been overvoltaged is the y164 amp chips on the main board. They are between the four chokes and they will be quite burnt and the pcb might be damaged as well. They are cheap but again, best left to someone with good soldering skills
Thank you

How did you get on with this? I've just done the same with my Yamaha V50 because two %#*@ wires looked the same and I made a mistake. Getting an engineer to look at it today but don't wanna get my hopes up.
Was it the fuse or was it f*cked?
