Why is My FW50C85T Sanyo TV screen gone black but I do have sound.

With the TV on, try holding a torch at an angle close to the screen and check if you can detect images on the screen at all.

They will be very faint if they are there so if possible try it in a darkened room to help see it if it is there.

If there are images then you have a backlight problem.

You will need to check the power board to see if there is power going to the backlights.

If there is no backlight power then it may be a power board problem or a mainboard problem. The mainboard tells the power board to turn the backlights on and off.

If there is backlight power then it may be a LED strip problem

Post some close up images of the power board. Here's how to do this.

If there are no images detected then the problem may be on the mainboard or the TCON board.

Try different input types e.g. HDMI , Component video etc, just to eliminate the remote possibility that it is a signal source or connection cord problem.
