Hi, I am refurbishing an iPhone se. And when I went to test it boot looped . I bought a new battery and the problem persisted so I tried to restore the iPhone and it isn't working. Even when I only have the battery logic board and dock connector connected out with the housing

I had a similar issue on a 5S a customer bought in for battery replacement a while ago. Device was bootlooping after a battery replacement. Turned out to be an issue with the U2 chip, which is the main power management chip on the motherboard. Might be worth heading to a specialist and seeing if they can help.
I know some of the more recent phones will bootloop if you don’t connect a home button to the device. I don’t think that applies to the SE but it’s worth a check. Have you tried booting it whilst making sure the home button is fully connected?

Thanks, I am almost certain its not the U2 chip as interestingly when connected to 3u Tools it doesn't report storage information! Could a problem with storage be the cause? I've also tested it fully assembled all original parts and just the logic board dock connector and battery none of things works. The error 9 still appears.
@gadgetbadger I'm not familiar with that bit of software, but that certainly could be the issue. I think a new motherboard might be the only step from here, unless you have the skills to replace memory chips. Even then, I'm really not sure if that'd fix the issue.
Motherboards for these devices, luckily, aren't too expensive if bought from somewhere like eBay, but obviously there's always a risk when fitting cheaper eBay parts, and you'll likely lose your Touch ID.
In the UK, you can get a new 16GB board without Touch ID for under £40, and a £16GB board with Touch ID for about £70. Obviously, these prices may change depending on where you live and how low you want to trust.
Thanks for your suggestion but I am trying to resell this device and doing this would all most certainly result in a loss.
It was originally working and then suddenly stopped so I am really hoping this can be repaired!
