Why won’t my Hoover power on?
Hoover vac completely dead…. won’t power on. Outlet is in good working order. Is there a fuse on vac I can replace? Bad switch ?

madmom1256 no fuse on your vacuum. Sounds like either a bad switch or bad wire. Use a multimeter and check if you get power to the switch. If you have trouble with the disassembly etc. Let us know your Hoover’s exact make and model number.

I have a Hoover power dash pet it has a bad power switch...how do I replace it?
Mine also will not power on . Only use it a couple times a year .pretty new yet. What are my options?

I also have a Hoover Power dash pet. I’m having the same problem with my power button or wires. This sounds like a recall on these for the power switches. That’s all I see when I look this model up FH50700. Thousands of people that have bought this model all is having power switch problems. Please help how to fix this problem. It would be greatly appreciate it thank you

I bought my Hoover pet cleaning machine a year ago worked Great 5 times getting up spots but it made aloud noise brush still rolling and got a smell of wires or belt burning to where my fire alarms went off and now will not start back. What do we do? To all the comments it look as if there is a lot of complaints with the exact problem. They should be recalled !’n

I bought 2 , same issue aqd you only after 3 uses....
Same! I bought two and they BOTH died after minimal use, but after the warranty period. Moving to Bissel.

You should try to re-solder the switch. You can take it off by unscrewing the screws in the handle and if the solder joints are fine then try to replace the switch.

I am on my second Hoover Power dash pet. Same thing as first one.
Works fantastic then motor makes a loud sounds( roller still moving).
I smell a faint hot electric or belt smell.
It will not turn on.
I dont have the income to buy another..help?
Used my carpet cleaner 2 times, on living room area rugs and now it won't turn on. This seems to be a problem with this product and it needs to be put on a product recall list. I never have liked Hoover products but I thought I'd give this carpet cleaner a try, what a mistake that was! It didn't even clean my rugs very well at all. Piece of junk. No wonder it was on sale, got it at Wal-Mart for $79. dollars.
I really loved my Hoover power dash but like all 10,000 people that are commenting, one day after cleaning it the thing just would not power on. The bad thi g about this Machi e you can't really take it apart to see if it's wired, a fuse, or a part so like you guys they should definitely put in for a recall but who do we complain to about a recall? If anyone knows let us k ow because I am definitely going g to put that option in a complaint with the mfg. I am thinking www.hoover.com but not positive

Same problem. Unit won’t power on except when it wants to . Have only used it about 4 times. I’m thinking if I can ever get it to power on again I will just unplug it to turn it off and plug it in to use it and see if this works. Not the safest option, but alt least I could use it instead of it just sitting there. Hoover needs to recall these, give everyone a fix or a refund.

Same thing. Used it twice it was great. The 3rd time right in the middle of the job AFTER just making a 2nd pass with the solution onto the carpet and it wouldn't turn on. I took it into the bathroom and put it in the bathtub and thoroughly cleaned it and dried it and switched outlets just to make sure....no deal. It still won't turn on and i now have a soaked rug just sitting there. Better yet, the reason for cleaning is becux of my new puppy had a cpl accidents, the reason i purchased it 3 weeks ago. Now i have wet dog urine smelling up the house making it even worse than before i started! I want my money back and i will go buy the Bissel! This is just a horrible issue that everyone seems to have. It's a faulty product all over the country!! Hoover disappoints AGAIN!
Same situation power button stop pressing and friend got it by hitting it hard so I never turned off just unplugged
One day months later power button became usable again without anyone fixing
Then 3 weeks later it was not usable again and I can't press it at all sping underneath stuck out little bit. Want to take apart and press on and will unplug only but don't know how to take power button off
I'm having the same problem. Used exactly 5 times. Purchased off amazon. While using it simply shut-off!!! What a RIP-Off!!!

Ok people, like everyone else, I have the same problem with my Hoover Power Dash and I almost was ready to throw it away! I had it outside for a year and after reading everyone’s comment, I decided to clean it up and try to power it. I used the plug outside the house 120v and Holy Smokes it power up!!!! When I tried to plug it in inside the house, no power! What does this mean?? I don’t know but I tried it on every plug in the house and no power. Only work with the extension cord plugged from outside!!!
