Internal storage on dead phone

Is there a way to get images from the phone's internal storage if the phone is dead? I got the phone wet a couple of months ago and it hasn’t started since. I’d say there is corrosion on the components. I was hoping to get the photos off of the internal storage. Can this be done?

thanks

Yes. There are two ways to get your photos back:

1) Repair your phone and get all your photos via USB/Google Photos/whatever you prefer.

2) Find someone to recover your photos from the internal storage directly. Even if your phone is completely dead, chances are the eMMC/flash chip is still alive. This won’t work if you’ve enabled encryption.

You can also try connecting it to a computer via USB. It might be still alive.

I sent the phone to samsung and they said it was not repairable. I think they meant that it is cheaper to buy a new one than repair it.

Any idea of companies that can recover images from the internal storage?

thanks

It doesn’t really matter what Samsung says. Just like Apple, they won’t do complex repairs such as fixing the motherboard. Look for independent repair shop that does this kind of stuff. As for data recovery: there are multiple companies that do data recovery. Even some cellphone repair shops do this. Just Google it.

There is a high chance that the phone could be gone but the only way to find out is by opening it up. The LCD itself could be gone and maybe the battery. No harm in trying as you have said the phone is already gone.
