Why am I getting popping from my front exhaust pipe?

That noise is the result of unburned fuel particles burning in the exhaust plumbing rather than the combustion chamber. abrupt changes in manifold pressure caused by the driver opening the throttle quickly have to be dealt with by adding a bit of extra fuel to produce good drivability.
