no power to drain pump

Hi i have top load lv washer, that would stop at the spin stage and roll slowly untill OE error comes up to say the water is not draining. I have checked hoses and even replaced water pump thinking it was the problem. it was not; both pumps are working if plugged directly into electricity. Infact if i plug the pump into my own power source the water drains really fast and the washer happily enters the last spinning state. So i tried to measure V across the plug that supplies the pump with power and its showing 60V potential (pump sais its 120V) i wonder if there is something like a burnt fuse i can replace (though my fear is its some regulator directly on a washer pcb) any thoughts?

(ps both pumps tested while washer attempted to drain by powering pump directly with 120v which worked as expected but not when pluged into the washer hatnest)

What is the model number of your washing machine?

Also did you mean to say LG?

Yes, LG sorry, from memory I think WT1201CW. Basically it werks "perfectly" if I give the drain motor external 120V when machine tries to drain; water goes away and it starts the spin s cycle.

I did buy replacement motor before I tested old one, both are in working condition :/

hi my model is Samsung wf702w2bcsd did't have power in to drain pump water out

before buying new pump (unplug the power) . take the back off and disconnect the pump, and "don't" make custom attachments to plug it in (mine ran on 110) to see if it is the pump. On mine I ended up powering it separately for draining until replaced the washer

Hi @ds21 ,

You may be right that the problem is on the control pcb.

Here’s a link to the service manual for the washer.

On p.30 it shows that there should be 120VAC +-5% measured at the motor when it is running.

The circuit shows it being directly supplied from the control board from connector BL3 pins 1 & 3.

On p.34 there is a flowchart for an OE error which may be of some help but it also ends up saying replace the main pcb assembly if the voltage is out of range.

Unfortunately there is no circuit for the control board so you may have to inspect the board and trace back on the board from where the supply to the drain pump leaves the board.

If you do spot something and you’re not quite sure, post some images back here.

I believe the voltage has a running and not running range. I have the same issue but the control board (CB) is constantly supplying 50+- volts when the pump is not running. Per the service manual voltage should be less than 1 volt from the CB, when not running. The pump will kick on one time but has trouble turning back on unless I unplug the washer and let it sit for awhile. Almost like there is a relay on the board stuck or a thermocouple in the motor itself that is on the edge of tripping because of the constant voltage applied. I suspect relay. Solution is a new CB

Why not try a new relay in case it is sticking relay contacts.

The relay information is usually found on the relay case.

Just found my problem. A broken blue-black wire, probably chewed by a mouse. Too bad I already replaced the pump…
