Epson Ecotank L555 - Switched itself off, now no power at all.

I recently purchased an Epson Ecotank L555 printer to replace an ageing Epson printer and a Canon printer that is expensive to run.

It went through its initial set up without a problem, charged up the ink, connected to Wi-Fi etc. Printed a couple of test pages and all was fine.

Tried to print another test page after a few minutes, the printer took the paper but then shut itself off with no signs of life. The printer has since failed to turn back on, despite multiple power sockets/adapters being used and various “reset” combinations tried (i.e. hold power, unplug from mains, plug back in etc).

This is a brand new printer that had sat in storage for a while so the warranty has expired, any ideas before this printer gets sent off for repairs?

Also, I’ve noticed that Epson sell an additional warranty, for not much more than the quote I’ve been given - should I take out the warranty and then claim on the warranty to get it repaired? at least it would give me an additional lengh of time in case of other problems (such as ink sponges etc).
