Why is my riding mower engine revving uncontrollably?

I have a Husqvarna riding mower with a Briggs & Stratton motor model number 44 R877. The type number is 0 0 0 1 g 1 and the code is 14032 0 YG. I have checked the springs on my linkage and there is no visible damage they are not stretched in any way. And my throttle seems to be moving okay. And my Governor seems to be set correctly? Any ideas on what else it could be?

@sammymom "engine revving uncontrollably" high or surging from low to high? Does it do it immediately on start up or after it warms up etc.

Thanks for the advice. Took the motor apart and found the Governor was not set right.( Husband didn't know you were supposed to set it when he put it back together the first time) will set it this time. Will also follow up on your advice after we get it put back together. Will let you know which one is the culprit. Thanks

Could be a plugged needle valve. Have you tried spraying some cleaner into the carb with the air cleaner removed? Try removing the air cleaner, get you some carb cleaner and spray it in the carb while the engine is at idle. This should remove any buildup, and there is buildup, guaranteed, inside the needle valve assembly allowing the machine to run smooth. Also might want to remove the bowl on the bottom of the carb and clean it too.
