You cannot check or add fluid as described there is no dipstick that you can just grab and check fluid! You have to get under the car and remove an engine mount to get to the dipstick which bolted in with 12mm bolt ! It is a poorly designed transmission with no fill tube for easy access. $250-$400 for transmission service!

- Remove Dipstick. Access point for transmission fluid.

There is no DIPSTICK on the 2011 Chev Equinox!!

You couldn't be much more wrong than you are.
You know, people rely on this information to be correct it's crazy that this got by somehow. This answer may be right on 99% of vehicles but the Chevy equinox is not one of them. Because it has no dipstick. It has a sealed system that forces these car buyers to take it to a shop to check the transmission that's crazy. And in mechanic terms that can cost a car buyer from 200 to $400 just to check it.

You have to remove 3-4 bolts off of the cover underneath the car. You cannot access your dipstick without removing that cover and will have to have it on a lift to get an accurate reading of the fluid level. There's no dipstick,under the car, there's a bolt, a lady can't get to that,but I myself watched my dad,I can't afford 400 to a mechanic. I'm going to do it.ty to those who showed me on here.
