Power door locks not responding on any doors via door switch and FOB

My 2011 Kia Optima LX has a problem…

The Power door locks not responding on any doors via door switch and FOB.

Also… wonder if it is related to the turn signal being silent inside now. They work but I used to hear a sound with it (it clicking).

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

Hi,

Check that the DR fuse (20A fuse) located in the Instrument panel fuse panel is OK.

It supplies power to the Two Turn Unlock Relay, the I/P Junction Box (Door Lock Relay, Door Unlock Relay) and the Turn Signal Lamp Sound Relay).

Be aware that there is always a reason why a fuse blows, even fatigue may be a factor ;-).

Once you have replaced the fuse and if it holds without blowing straightaway, test everything that is powered by the fuse to see if it works OK without blowing the fuse again i.e. lock and unlock the doors using the key fob, by inserting and turning the key in the door lock and by operating the central door lock switch. Also test that the turn indicator sound now works (and that the indicators are still working)

Have you checked the fuses for the door locks? There should be a fuse box inside the vehicle and another under the hood. Check your manual to see which fuse is for the power locks.

A blown fuse may be the cause of a power door lock issue that affects only one door. Using pliers, you may remove the power lock fuse, which is frequently located in the hood of the automobile.
