angiewheeler705 check in the fuse box under the hood. There is a fuel pump relay. Use a test light to see if you have power to that. #18 in the picture
We would need to know the engine size of your Grand Am so we can check the wiring diagram as well. Let us know what you find.

When you take the relay out, you should have power on 2 of the contacts in the fuse box, one is the control side where the computer tells it what to do and the other is the load side which actually jumps power to the pump, you can also hot wire the load side to see if the pump works but BE SURE of the pins. Is there an identical relay to swap, this will test the relay switch inside, if it works like normal, buy new relay. ONCE you have wire diagram, more help to be given.
I have a 2004 grand am 2.2 no power to fuel pump and I just replaced pump
2002 2.2liter Pontiac grand prix
I'm having the same problem. Ony way I can get power to fuel pump is to jump the relay. Where to from there?
