Why does my mute switch randomly mute/unmute?
My iPhone 4S recently has started muting/unmuting recently. Is there any way to repair this issue? It sometimes gets unmuted when in mute position. Other times it vibrates and shows the volume HUD.

Have you tried resetting it? It sounds like a soft wear issue.

Yep. Been doing it on iOS 8, 9, and I think 6.

I think it's a partial tear in the volume button / vibrate switch cable that causes this.
That possible.
I have a friend with an iPhone 4. It's most likely not an old board.
